August 14, 2009

The kids from The Biz Theatre School's Summer School become the kids from Fame when they bring the musical to The Leatherhead Theatre.

For two weeks more than 40 eight to 21 year olds will have been working under the guidance of West End professionals as they act, sing and dance their way through rehearsals before taking the stage on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22.

Set at New York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts, Fame - The Musical follows a group of students on an inspiring journey of laughter, tears, heartache and romance.

The production is directed by ex-National Theatre actress and director Erika Vincent with Richard Cartmale from The English National Opera as musical director.

The cast is supported by a full orchestra.

Following their last four sell out productions The Biz has raised more than £14,000 for Surrey charities. Profits from the performances this year will go to Chase, the children's hospice charity.
