Students of Castle High School are prepared to experience their first taste of "fame."

Beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at the high school auditorium, CHS students will be performing "Fame: The Musical."

The musical begins at 7:30 p.m. and continues on through Saturday, Nov. 20. Adult tickets are $7.50 and student tickets are $5.

Susan Halling, a CHS teacher and public relations director for the musical, said audience members will watch the story of a group of high school students who move to New York City to pursue their talents at a school for the arts.

"It's about their dreams and their hard work," said Halling. "Their dream is to achieve stardom."

Halling said that the students have prepared very well for the performances.

"I'm always impressed with the level of talent that these young people express," she said. "They are very dedicated and very lively. It is an awesome production with a lot of energy in it. There is a little bit of drama in it, but it is mostly song and dance."

"Fame: The Musical" is conceived and developed by David de Silva. The book is written by Jose Fernandez, the lyrics are by Jacques Levy and music is by Steve Margoshes.

Advance tickets may be reserved by calling the high school at 853-3331 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased at the north box office between 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
