X Factor contestant Beverley Trotman is to tread the boards at Manchester’s Opera House in the UK tour of Fame - The Musical.

The 39-year-old primary school teacher, reached the final five of the ITV1 talent show. She will play English teacher Miss Sherman in the popular production, which arrives at the Opera House for a week in February next year.

Beverley will tour with the show for seven months. As Miss Sherman, Beverley will sing a solo in the act two number “These Are My Children”, as well as a duet.

Fame tells the tale of a group of dedicated students studying at New York’s High School for Performing Arts, and features a famous score including the title track.

The 14-venue tour starts on January 9 in Edinburgh and arrives at the Manchester Opera House from Mon 2nd - until Sat 7th February, 2009.
