Her 15 Minutes of Fame
by Mark Nicholls

It may only have been 15 minutes of Fame for Charlotte Potts, but it might just be enough to set her up for a life of stardom.
The performing arts student from Norwich came out tops in an audition of 20 other local dancers to join the cast of the touring production for one night at the Theatre Royal in Norwich.
And last night the 17 year old seized her chance.
Before going on stage, with all her family and friedns watching, Charlotte said: "I am just so excited - to have the chance to take part in Fame is fantastic for me. It is the kind of dancing I am really into."
Charlotte saw the opening night of the show in Monday and spent yesterday meeting the other performers, rehearsing under the guidance of cast members William Peaco Jnr and Gemma Atkins.
She also had her own dance masterclass with the duo.
"They showed me the acting scenes, the dancing parts and where to stand," she said.
"Everybody has been so supportive. I have had lots of messages and people congratulating me."
Charlotte is studying performing arts at Norwich City College.
"I hope that in January and February I'll start auditioning for stage schools, but being in this show has been so inspiring for me.
"It has pushed me hard and been such a fantastic experience.
"It has been so generous of people like Will and Gemma to help me through the show and for the company to let this happen."
Her parents Carole and Nick were in the audience with her grandparents and and boyfriend Ryan Cutmore, along with fellow students and teachers from college.
Fame tour manager Robin Francis said Charlotte would be on stage for about 15 minutes and she would be announced at the start of the show and have a special bow at the finale.
"It has been good for use to offer this opportunity for someone from the area to join the show," he said.

Fame runs at the Theatre Royal, Norwich, until Saturday
