hiya... a local youth company is doin a production of FAME! by me and i auditioned 4 the part of iris and got it...
ne1 got ne tips on the character?

firstly, congrats!!!! omg i loved playing iris in my production (in australia) i did it last year... i got my first kiss because of it!! lmao kinda sad buuuuttt anyways...
my tips- have the best time! try to get on with everyone in the cast, it'l be more fun for the sake of it, even if there are really awful people, you will enjoy it more if you get on with the people your working with.
also, try help making up the dances your in, that gives you a special feeling of ownership to the dance, i know it did for me anyways. mainly because i was a choreographer, i made up the pas de duex and tyrone's solo dance and also dance class where the audience first meets iris... lol i had the most awesome time doing that, so, get really involved.
also, dont fall in love with the guy playing tyrone I REPEAT DONT FALL IN LOVE WITH TYRONE!! i did and it sucked, coz he ended up getting with our miss bell lmao kinda wrong if you think about it too much. but yeh, dont!!
one last thing- be iris, dont just be you playing iris, be iris... but only on stage. dont take ur character out of reherasals. a lot of our people did and they made it hard for themselves because they would get really depressed (our carmen was crying at school one day, i asked her why, and her reply was "because i kill myself!! omg its so bad, i feel so attached to her!") sure, get attached to playing iris and really own the character, but dont get obsessed. it'll only make you feel upset.
