WATERTOWN —

Fifteen teens from eight Massachusetts cities and towns are starring in "Fame" at the New Repertory Theatre July 27-28.

The students are participating in summerSTAGE2, a unique program for serious students entering grades 8 through 12. Participants work with professional theater artists to study, rehearse and perform in a musical theater production.

The students participating in the show are Rosella Aluia of Arlington; Deven Carter, Miles Cipriano, Julius Frank, Lucas Cmok Kehoe, Brian Kleckner and Nicole Thoma, all of Belmont; Lily Clement and Rachel Nadai of Newton; Ellease Creer of Boston; Eli Goykhman of Acton; Zoe Gradsky of Watertown; Elizabeth James and Julia Marcantonio of Westwood; and Nola Johnson of Needham.

"Fame, The Musical," based on the popular film and television show, is an honest, straightforward portrayal of talented teens trying to find their way at the Performance Arts High School in Manhattan. It was conceived and developed by David De Silva, book by Jose Fernandez, lyrics by Jacques Levy, and music by Steve Margoshes.

Performances are Friday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 27 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 28 at 2 p.m. at The Arsenal Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal St., Watertown. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students/seniors. Call 617-923-8487 or visit www.newrep.org.
