FAME brought right up to date at the Belgrade
By Nuneaton News | June 03, 2014
FAME The Musical at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry. Running Time: 2.45hrs, 30 minute interval.
BIG VOICES and non-stop dance are to be expected when going to see a performance of FAME, but what was not expected was just how big and how intense the show was.
The story of a group of teens who find themselves at PA FAME school, who learn that working that hard is the only way to achieve success is one we all recognise from the classic 80’s feature film.
However, there really is nothing like watching dancers perform high kicks and the splits on stage and wishing you could get up and join in.
The performance of FAME at the Belgrade Theatre brings the musical right up-to-date with references to current artists and stars such as Katie Perry and Dr Dre, so all the family can enjoy the fun.
Audiences loved the rendition of the classic hits such as ‘FAME’ and ‘Love scene’ with many getting on their feet to join in with the dancing at the end.
The show really has a bit of everything, song, dance, love and death all thrown in.
All the cast brilliantly held their own on stage and a quick role change due to illness didn’t faze the focus of the performers.
The show was a brilliant celebration of all things musical rounded off with a huge vocal performance from Jodie Steele as Carmen Diaz, which got all the audience on their feet and clapping along.
FAME the musical will be appearing at the Belgrade Theatre all week until Saturday, June 7. The show starts at 7.45pm with matinee performances on Wednesday and Saturday at 2.30pm.
Tickets are priced between £22 and £32.25 and are available from the Belgrade box office on024 7655 3055 or online at www.belgrade.co.uk
