THEY want to live forever and they want to learn how to dance.

Students of Funky Dance Studios in Lismore got exactly that opportunity yesterday when the leading lady of the recent performance of the musical Fame was in town to show them a few moves.

Talia Fowler, winner of the second series of the television show So You Think You Can Dance, has come a long way since her classical ballet days.

“Since being on (the show) I went over to the US to dance on the American version of the show,” she said.

“When I came back to Australia I auditioned for Fame and got the leading role.”

It was some of the moves from the musical that Ms Fowler was teaching the next generation of dancers.

“It was fast moving but it was exhausting,” 11-year-old Ina Hobson, of Byron Bay, said.

“Every dance is different but it gets funner and funner.”

“I loved the experience of dancing with Talia,” 10-year-old Yasmin McLean, of Richmond Hill, agreed.
